These pages are for people who already use a coding tool. If you just want to chat with an assistant about your drawings, Claude Desktop or Microsoft 365 Copilot is the simpler choice.

Every tool starts the same local program over stdio, with no arguments:
%LOCALAPPDATA%\Programs\CADshift\AutoCAD MCP\server\cadshift-mcp-autocad.exe
The server name CADshift uses in every config is cadshift-autocad. In JSON, write the full path with doubled backslashes (how to find it).
All four tools can also be connected with one command: the helper writes the same entry for you, makes a backup of the file first, and never rewrites a file it can’t parse.
