End User License Agreement
& Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 2026
1. Agreement to Terms
By installing or using CADshift for SOLIDWORKS® (the “Software”), you agree to be bound by this End User License Agreement (the “Agreement”) between you and HYMMA Pty Ltd (“HYMMA”, “Company”, “we”, “us”). If you do not agree to these terms, do not install or use the Software. CADshift is an independent product of HYMMA and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Dassault Systèmes. SOLIDWORKS is a trademark of Dassault Systèmes SolidWorks Corporation.
2. License Grant
Subject to your compliance with this Agreement, HYMMA grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to:
- Install and use the Software on computers where you have a valid license;
- Use the Software solely for your internal business or personal purposes;
- Make backup copies of the Software for archival purposes.
3. License Restrictions
You may NOT:
- Copy, modify, or distribute the Software except as expressly permitted;
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Software;
- Rent, lease, lend, sell, or sublicense the Software;
- Remove or alter any proprietary notices or labels;
- Use the Software to develop competing products;
- Circumvent any licensing mechanisms or restrictions.
4. Subscription & Trial
4.1 Free tier & trial
The Software includes a free tier and a time-limited free trial of the paid tiers. After the trial expires, a valid subscription is required for continued use of paid features. The free tier remains available without a subscription, on the terms set out in this Agreement — including section 5.3.
4.2 Subscription
Subscriptions are billed according to the plan you select. You may manage your subscription through the Software or at cadshift.com.
4.3 Termination
We may terminate your license if you breach this Agreement. Upon termination you must uninstall and destroy all copies of the Software.
5. Data Collection & Privacy
5.1 What we collect
To improve the Software and develop intelligent features, we collect anonymous usage telemetry, which may include:
- Document types you work with (Part, Assembly, Drawing);
- CADshift features and commands you use;
- SOLIDWORKS commands and environments you use;
- Sequence of operations in your workflow;
- Software, add-in, and SOLIDWORKS version information;
- Your license tier;
- Error and crash reports.
5.2 What we do NOT collect
We respect your intellectual property. We never collect:
- File names, file paths, or folder names;
- Actual geometry, dimensions, or coordinates;
- Part numbers, descriptions, or custom properties;
- Screenshots or visual representations of your models;
- Personal information beyond your license identifier;
- Any data that could identify your designs or projects.
5.3 Command learning
The Software can learn the order in which you run commands, so that it can offer the command you are likely to need next. To do this it records, on your own computer:
- which command was invoked, as a numeric SOLIDWORKS command identifier;
- the type of document that was active;
- how many milliseconds into the session it happened;
- the SOLIDWORKS and CADshift version in use;
- a random identifier for the installation (see below).
A record carries no name, no account, no licence key, and nothing taken from your model.
It does carry an installation identifier: a random value generated on your computer the first time the
feature runs, stored alongside the recordings. It exists so that recordings shared from one installation
can be grouped and counted once rather than mistaken for many separate users. It is not derived from your
licence, your email address, your account, or your hardware, and we do not join it to your customer
record. Deleting your recordings does not change it; removing the file
%APPDATA%\CADshift\install-id issues a new one.
Free tier. Taking part is a condition of the free licence. If you use the Software without a paid subscription, command learning is enabled and the recordings are shared with HYMMA; this is part of what the free tier is granted in exchange for. If you do not wish to take part, take out a paid subscription or do not use the Software.
Paid tiers. Sharing is off. You may switch it on for a single session from the Command learning page on the CADshift tab; it switches itself off again the next time SOLIDWORKS starts, so it is never left on without a deliberate choice. Recording continues locally so the feature works for you, and you may turn that off as well.
Recordings are kept in %APPDATA%\CADshift\ui-actions as plain text you can open and read.
Delete what has been recorded on the same page removes them permanently.
5.4 Purpose of collection
This data is used to:
- Identify common workflows and improve the user experience;
- Diagnose and fix bugs and performance issues;
- Develop new features based on real usage patterns;
- Train models that provide intelligent workflow suggestions.
5.5 Review your data
You can review what the add-in records on your own machine before anything is sent. General telemetry is
written to the Windows Event Log: open Event Viewer, expand
Windows Logs → Application, and filter by the CADshift source. Command-learning
recordings are the plain-text files described in section 5.3. Both are human-readable.
5.6 Data transmission
Data is uploaded periodically in batches by a background service when your computer has an internet connection. All data is transmitted securely over HTTPS.
5.7 Data retention
Data is retained for up to 24 months for analysis and product improvement, after which it is deleted or permanently anonymized.
5.8 Data security
We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit and at rest, access controls, and regular security reviews.
5.9 Automatic updates
A background service may periodically check for, download, and install updates to the Software. Each update is verified against a checksum published by HYMMA before it is applied. You may disable automatic updates in the Software's settings.
6. Intellectual Property
The Software and all copies thereof are proprietary to HYMMA and title remains with HYMMA. All rights in the Software not specifically granted in this Agreement are reserved to HYMMA. The Software is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws.
7. Warranty Disclaimer
THE SOFTWARE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. HYMMA DOES NOT WARRANT THAT THE SOFTWARE WILL BE ERROR-FREE OR UNINTERRUPTED.
8. Limitation of Liability
IN NO EVENT SHALL HYMMA BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, USE, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, RESULTING FROM (a) your use of or inability to use the Software; (b) any unauthorized access to or alteration of your data; or (c) any other matter relating to the Software. Nothing in this Agreement excludes liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law, including the Australian Consumer Law.
9. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold HYMMA harmless from any claims, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your use of the Software or your breach of this Agreement.
10. Governing Law
This Agreement is governed by the laws of the State of Victoria, Australia, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. You submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of that state.
11. Changes to this Agreement
We may update this Agreement from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, notified through the Software. Continued use of the Software after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Agreement.
12. Contact
Questions about this Agreement or your data can be sent to [email protected]. HYMMA Pty Ltd, Australia.
